Lathe Operation

The modern engine lathe has a long history leading back to the Industrial Revolution.  The primary individual credited for its development is Henry Maudslay, a British tool maker.  This machine is primarily responsible for the ability to create consistent thread form and thus interchangeability, setting off the explosive growth of industry and production.
