ISE student attends International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions annual expo

Posted:

ISE student, Ryan Lawler, attended the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) annual expo in November of 2017 as a member of the IAAPA Ambassador team. The ISE department was able to partially sponsor his travel using funds generously provided by ISE alumni, Rob Savage. The event is the single largest gathering for all companies encapsulated by the umbrella term of “amusement parks and attractions” across the globe.

Lawler has always had a lifelong passion in the attractions industry and attended for the second year in a row. Lawler describes “Walking down a tradeshow floor and seeing a group of executives in suits, wearing virtual-reality headsets, riding a prototype motion-base simulator, laughing hysterically in enjoyment? There’s no business quite like the business of ‘fun.’ Attending IAAPA again this year allowed me to learn about new up-and-coming industry trends, advancements in safety topics, build upon relationships established last year, and continue to expand my personal and professional networks”.
