Ramteen Sioshansi to receive 2020 OR Division Teaching Award

ISE Professor and Associate Chair Ramteen Sioshansi will receive the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) OR Division Annual Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Operations Research. The national award recognizes excellence in teaching operations research and will be formally presented at the 2020 IISE Annual Conference & Expo which has been postponed to October 31 – November 3 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Candidates for the award are nominated for the instruction of an undergraduate course in operations research methods or applications. Sioshansi is being honored for the course ISE 3210 Nonlinear and Dynamic Optimization. The rigorous course was developed to meet the needs of students facing complex optimization challenges in their capstone course projects.
